Dr.A.S.Kodanda Pani is a civil engineering graduate, Post-graduate in Town Planning, and has obtained a Doctorate in Urban Development. He is a Fellow of the Insititute of Town Planners, India and a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers (India). He is the past Chairman of the Karnataka Chapter of the Institute of Town Planners, and the Committee member of the State Centre of the Institution of Engineers. He was trained by the Ford Foundation as a Senior Fellow in European and asian countries. On deputation from Govt of Karnataka, he was trained in ‘Aerial Surveying and Mapping’ in China. He was the Cheif Town Planner of BBMP and Member Town Planning BDA for two terms. Some of the topics and issues covered in this book is Planning Efforts, Development of the City, Water Supply, Economic Activites, Traffic and Transportation, Storm Water Drainage, Underground Drainage, Power Supply, Civic Amenities, Solid Waste Management, Building Regulations, Widening of Roads and Bifurcation of Bangalore City.
